Endoscopy Unit
In the endoscopy unit, we examine and treat various diseases related to the stomach and intestinal tract, urinary tract/bladder, trachea, lungs, and bile ducts. The operations are based on various endoscopies and procedures associated with them.
Treatment in specialized medical care requires a referral from a doctor. The referral can be obtained from the attending physician at a health center, a private medical clinic, or occupational health care.
Prepare for your visit
Before an endoscopic examination, you need to prepare in different ways depending on the procedure. Read how to prepare; instructions can be found under the examinations. It is very important that you follow the instructions correctly so that we can conduct the examination properly.

Colorectal cancer screening
Comprehensive screening for colorectal cancer has been conducted in Finland since 2022 to prevent and detect colorectal cancer early. People aged 60–72 are invited to colorectal cancer screening every two years. The program is gradually expanding and will cover the entire target group aged 56–74 by 2031.
By detecting cancer as early as possible, treatment becomes significantly easier and outcomes better. Screening is part of the health and medical services in your home municipality’s welfare area. The examination through Fimlab is voluntary and free of charge.
Colorectal cancer screening is carried out through Fimlab. You will receive a personal invitation letter for colorectal cancer screening from Fimlab every two years.
Screening needs to be repeated regularly because the examination only shows the current condition.
