Kåppi is a social welfare support service for young people under 29 who are suspected of repeated or serious offences. At Kåppi, you can use your real name or stay anonymous. The service is free of charge and provided for a limited time, depending on the client situation.

The service is tailored to you, and we can support you, for example, during court cases, pre-trial detention, or prison sentences. We can also help if you’re doing community service or a juvenile sentence.

What do you get from Kåppi?

We give you support on the path towards a life without crime and drugs. We work with a forward-looking approach and focus on finding your strengths and personal resources and building a positive self-image.

With Kåppi you get

  • a reliable person who listens and is there for you on your journey
  • support in managing daily life and strengthening your resources
  • help in building motivation and creating a meaningful life

We can support you when you are faced with a crisis or need a new direction in your life. Together, we can find solutions and support networks that are right for you. We will work together with you, your family, your network, and the authorities.

The most important thing is to focus on the present and have courage to try new things.

How do you become a Kåppi client?

  • Underage young people involved in crime are referred to Kåppi by child welfare social workers.
  • Adults can join voluntarily, often following the advice of the police, the prison and probation service, or their family or friends, for example.
