Remember to Cancel Your Appointment if You’re Not Coming

Do you know what to do if you get sick or your situation changes, and you need to cancel your scheduled appointment?

  • If you have an appointment at a health centre, you can cancel it by sending a text message. Include your name, city or municipality, the time you’re canceling, and whether you need a new appointment. Send the message to 040 190 8576.
  • You can also call the care needs assessment line at 06 218 9000 to cancel your health centre appointment.
  • If you booked your appointment digitally, such as for a nurse’s consultation, you can cancel it through the same digital service you used to make the booking.
  • Most specialized outpatient clinics at Vaasa Central Hospital and Jakobstad’s Malmska Hospital offer a digital form for canceling appointments. You can also cancel by contacting the clinic directly, using the contact details in your appointment letter.

By canceling your appointment as early as possible, we can give the time to another patient, ensuring that our professionals’ time is used efficiently. Uncanceled and missed appointments may incur charges in accordance with the Act on Client Charges in Healthcare and Social Welfare.

You can find more information about cancelling your appointment and links to digital services in Finnish and in Swedish.
