Update Your Contact Information and SMS Reminder Permissions

As the new client and patient information system is implemented in the wellbeing services county in February, it will also affect SMS reminders sent to customers.

To continue receiving SMS notifications for appointments, you must give consent for SMS reminders and alerts. Consent for SMS reminders was requested in a different way in the old systems, meaning that not all clients will automatically receive reminders after the transition.

Text messages from the Wellbeing Services County of Ostrobothnia will appear with the sender name ”OVPH”.

Important! If you have an appointment on February 17–18, you may not receive an SMS reminder as expected.

Digital services are gradually transitioning to a new service channel, the Citizen Portal.

Implementation Schedule

October 2024: Kristinestad and Kaskinen
February 2025: Vaasa, Laihia, Korsholm, Vörå, Malax, Korsnäs, and Närpes
March 2025: Jakobstad, Larsmo, Kronoby, Nykarleby, and Pedersöre

Once the new system has been implemented, you can log into the Citizen Portal to update your contact details and grant permission for SMS reminders.

How to proceed:

1. Access the digital Citizen portal via https://pohjanmaa.terveytesi.fi/

2. Log into the service. Strong authentication is required. You can use your online banking codes, a mobile certificate or a certificate card.

3. Click on the user icon in the top right corner and select ”Contact info”. Check and update your contact details. Tick the box ”Permission to send reminders by text message” if you want to receive notifications, such as appointment reminders.

Click Save at the bottom left of the page.

4. If you have dependents, update their contact information and permissions as well. Select the person from the drop-down menu. Click Save at the bottom left of the page.
