Eye disease outpatient clinic and ophthalmic day surgery

You will always need a referral from either a private doctor or a health centre doctor to visit the eye disease outpatient clinic. Based on the referral, we will contact you.

The eye disease outpatient clinic is on call on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays during office hours from 08:00-15:00. On Thursdays and Fridays, during office hours from 08:00-15:00, the emergency eye clinic is at the eye unit of Seinäjoki Central Hospital.

In the evenings and during weekends, emergency patients are treated outside opening hours at the Vaasa Central Hospital Accident & Emergency (A&E) department.

Ophthalmic day surgery

For a day surgery procedure, you will need a referral from either a private ophthalmologist or from an ophthalmologist from the outpatient clinic. We perform eye surgeries mainly under local anaesthetic, if necessary under general anaesthetic. As a day surgery patient, you will return home the same day after surgery.

The procedures performed under anaesthesia are performed in collaboration with Y2 day surgery.
