Vaccinations
Adults must personally make sure that they have received at least three tetanus, diphtheria and polio vaccines as a primary series. The tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis vaccinations given during childhood and youth are boosted in adulthood.
Influenza vaccinations will begin on 20 October 2025. The influenza vaccine gives protection against influenza and associated secondary diseases. The protection provided by the influenza vaccine lasts for about a year.
COVID booster vaccinations for other target groups will begin on 20 October 2025.
The Wellbeing Services County of Ostrobothnia offers free pneumococcal vaccines in accordance with THL’s recommendations to those in risk groups.
