The teams on the advanced rehabilitation wards are multi-professional and operate under the responsibility of the neurology department. The wards mainly treat neurological and orthopaedic patients. Intensive rehabilitation is usually given after, among other things, a stroke, a major operation, or an accident. We can also receive patients for targeted rehabilitation from other specialist areas.
The ward employs nurses, practical nurses, a physician, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, a speech therapist, a ward secretary, a head nurse and an assistant head nurse. We work closely with rehabilitation therapists, social workers, nutritionists and clinical nurses, and consult with other specialists as needed.
Please note the following information
Admittance to the advanced rehabilitation ward is by referral only, which can be written by a physician in specialist care or primary care. The ward physician will decide on whether the patient will be offered a period of rehabilitation.
